You know it's got to be pretty. It's the Lido Shuffle!

Union Groovin’ To Saxapahaw.

It’s quite a lovely excursion.

To some, sitting on a bicycle,

Might seem to be a perversion.

But today we rode to Saxapahaw.

We rode from Union Grove.

Some of us rode out to Union Grove.

Some of us merely drove.

We’ll ride to another place tomorrow,

If we have another day to borrow.

I wonder where we’ll ride next week?

What fun and sun and adventure will we seek?

But this is what we did today.

We went for a bicycle ride.

We took a pedal in the right direction,

To put our troubles and cares aside.

This is a ride we take, sometimes just for fun.

We breathe a bit of fresh air and get a little sun.

We love this way of disconnecting and connecting.

Once you’re bitten by this “bug”, it’s really quite infecting!

So get that bike and come let’s ride.

Most of your daily woes will subside.

Sure, you’ll smell some animals and flowers,

As you float on your bike over asphalt for hours.

The people you see and greet today,

Each person has a story that’s very unique.

Each has a hidden pearl if we just look and seek.

I’ll listen as we roll along the way.

I want to know if you’re sad or forlorn,

Or why you’re at peace or maybe with scorn.

We might struggle at times with hills in our way,

But I maintain that I’m concerned with what you say.

And if your words are too heavy for my head,

I’ll just reply, “I never heard a word you said.”

Yep, this is a scene I "capture" a lot.

But I may as well as may as not!

I can't help myself with the flora and fauna I see!

Could there be a better place, right now, to be?

I love the house on the left and the barns on the right.

It has an aura that all is well and alright.

Life is good, we're catching our friends up ahead.

Let's not pass but ride with them instead.

Sometimes it seems there is too much scenery.

All around we're blessed with beautiful greenery.

It's such a cordial group today.

Let's just have fun and play.

We'll play hard and we'll perspire.

We'll sometimes go until we tire.

Maybe today I will weigh a little less.

Maybe I'll seem a bit more ageless.

Yeah- you might as well listen to some Boz Scaggs!

Alright, "Smoke em' if you've got 'em but you better hydrate!

You still have a lot more miles on your plate.

Let's toast a soft drink or some Gator-Ade,

Before we race again and fade.

Gather around and I'll tell you how I got here.

It wasn't as easy as it might appear.

Out in front was a "Bruce on the loose".

I was cooked and so was my goose!

Bruce stepped on that recumbent and away he went!

Bruce has a faster machine and it's "speed-heaven-sent"!

Let's all eat a cookie or any energy bar.

Whatever you eat is what you are?

This place has it all for goodness sakes!

They even have a variety of home-made cakes!

Yes, the handicap parking sign is in the right place.

As you can see by the silly look on each face!

Park your bikes right here says the handicap sign.

A butt and a tiny seat makes a handicapped mind.

Let's work together and book on down the road!

Let's all crank it up a notch but don't explode.

That's the ticket- let's play together nice.

Easy does it - short pull - that's my advice.

Maybe pull a tenth or a quarter of a mile.

Make a smooth rotation- now that's real style.

That's it let's keep an aero-dynamic single file.

You know you're not aero-dynamic with such a big smile!

Yep, this is really smooth, I have to admit.

I'm drafting at the back and all I do is sit.

Yes sir, we're gettin' down the road and- uh oh!

We've got a flat Guys! Hold up! Whoa!

Well let's take a little time and fix this flat.

Waiting for your buddies is "where it's at"!

Let's be cordial and turn around.

But if you go ahead you might slow down.

Maybe we'll chase and catch right back.

Then we'll launch a counter-attack.

Now we don't want to make a buddy sore,

But what were you thinking a buddy was for?
