The “Halls of Ivy”,

Just turn out more,

Of the same alumni,

We’ve had before.

They’re puppy-mills,

Of higher learning,

Appeasing the more fortunate,

As the world lies burning.

“Rah rah for our team!”

I hear the chosen ones scream!

And soldiers live nightmares,

To support their dream.

The “puppy mills” continue,

Their selfish infection,

That insists their order,

Is their un-natural selection.

The grad finds his place,

At the “top of the food chain”,

With little compassion,

And an orchestrated brain.

They’ve “worked so hard”,

For their “higher education”,

And merely wield it,

In intellectual conversation.

Like peacocks the grads strut,

With programmed heads so thick,

They forget “halls of Ivy”

Are laid brick by brick.

They have little regard,

For true history and how,

Men of labor built “Halls of Ivy”,

With sweat on their brow,

They perpetuate bile,

As they smile and beguile,

And charmingly kill,

Behind a smirking smile.

Now go out in God’s world,

And help corporations pillage,

Then slither and cower,

Inside your gated village.

Build us all,

Some higher walls,

So no-one will hear,

When humanity calls.

Send the children to the institutions,

Where the best professors educate,

And inspire selfish ablutions,

And pretty words that placate.

What I write is for the soldier, the bicyclist, the poor, the weak, truth.

It amazes me that as I write FOR a benevolent God and God's people - that a republican will call me me a liberal - and not in any kind way.

So - I'm a liberal if I stand for the same people as Jesus did?

I am actually accused of spreading hate by taking up for the less fortunate.

For all the right wingers, left wingers, and the liars that are middle of the road - byte my a$$.

I don't have time to negotiate with traitors and paper patriots who wrap themselves up in the American CORPORATE flag and sell out the common man.

You're perpetuating endless war and I despise you.

And I will stand against this tyranny of large money to my dying breath.

This selfish apathy is killing our children - and - wars are not kept from America's shores - because recruiters from hell - take our children to hell.

Micky, Some of the dumbest people i've ever met were highly educated, some of the smartest people never went to college. I'm not knocking education, it's a wonderful thing, but when the mind is used without the heart, it's empty and gains nothing. I love your work and heart...

No matter what we acquire in life, whether it be education, wealth or power,if it isn't used to better our world but only kept for selfish gain, it is all lost. You have written an amazing poem that speaks volumes about mankind and how some only perpetuate the same lack of concern through the generations. The "puppies" regurgitate the same garbage they are fed and the starving stay that way.

Great read Micky. I enjoyed this poem and share many of the same feelings.However I have said before and will say again. You align your self with the wrong political party. There is no right one in our system. I would never stoop so low as to call my self a liberal, or a conservative a republican or democrat. Only a fool would hold such low hopes for them selves. Some on both sides say, "it is the lesser of the two evils", however it is still evil as the sayer just admitted.So why chose an evil when there is other choices out there. I'm sorry to say this but anyone who calls themselves a democrat, please research the history of your chosen problem. Find out for your self that they are the reason that blacks could not vote hold political office or own land for so long. Because after the civil war the Republicans gave them to them to be taken away by the democrats. However I could go on just as much about the Republican party. However I chose democrats because this is the party brought up. I chose neither side, no lesser of two evils for me. I am a constitutionalist, and AMERICAN that is my political party. And to chose any other way shows how little your truly care for your country, in my humble opinion that is.

I would like to add another note to the democrat versus republican debate.

Republicans DO NOT care about the environment.

Grass roots democrats CARE about the environment and their neighbors.

DEMOCRATS in North Carolina have established a JUSTICE CENTER for people who are wrongfully convicted.

Republicans like Art Pope own businesses like dollar stores and suck the money from the poor. Art Pope republican from hell- establishes THINK STINK TANKS.

They need a septic tank from which to do their thinking.

And - pintails - FROM THE WAY REPUBLICANS HAVE TREATED ME ON MY MICKY DEE HUBS - they - every one - can go to hell. Oh - I mean it literally.

I hate Satan. We all have to hate something.

As a college graduate, a good college, I must say that the corruption and lack of heart arrives on the campus from the home. The indoctrination begins at birth not upon matriculation. The wealthy have the resources to educate their young but the educated are bought out by big business for the love of their families and material reward. I try not to paint all people with the same brush. It takes only one leader to turn the head of an unwieldy stallion such as our beloved nation has become.The deck is stacked against us as it was in the fight for civil rights. WE SHALL OVERCOME. YOU ARE AN AMERICAN HERO. THERE ARE OTHERS IN THE MAKING. KEEP THE FAITH.
