Heaven Is Knockin' On All Four Doors!
62
It had been too long.
I went to see her just today.
It was the first time,
Since they took her away.
It’s been many years,
Since we’d been apart.
No one can know how heavy,
This has made my heart.
She was faithful,
She had never let me down.
No one can know the grief,
There is no solace to be found.
She’s a prisoner.
She’s locked away inside,
As I saw her prison, chains,
And guards I cried.
But now she’s knocking,
On heaven’s door,
But I hope and pray,
That we’re joined once more.
But it’s hard for me,
To report,
As she’s kept,
On life support.
Hope dims. Faith fades.
There is no joy to seek,
With a $2000 bill,
From a radiator leak!
On August 4, 2010 it was raining just a tad so I left my house late hoping the rain would abate and the roads would dry a little.
I met some of the folks on Lawrence and we chased the faster guys.
We didn't go really hard but we didn't tarry.
If we're smiling, we aren't going hard.
Stan is ahead of us here.
Damp fun was had by all.
We caught up with them at our rest stop.
The over-clouded sky made for a great temperature.

I love the farm behind us here.

I'd split off to Hillsborough as the guys would continue on Dimmocks Mill.

You never cease to amaze me.... Really enjoyed this one. Thanks Micky, love and peace as always, Dim x
Man and their vehicle! My Mom used to said she just my dad's second wife. His first wife is his car! :D
Enjoyable poem and pleasant view. Thank you, King Micky.
Another great hub my dear dear friend, and I promise to share my (whatever I'm smoking) with you! I just really enjoy you hubs and the country side, the farms and the old sheds, very cooooooool. rate way up love ya darski
Funny how we attribute human characteristics to our cars. My dad always named his and he said if you treated her well (they were always female) they would never let you down.
As an adult, I find I have grown attached to mine as well.
Great poem and such captivating pics.
Too funny! Only a man would write a poem about his car! lol
I remember this very well. Thanks for the memory!
Loved Your poem, and the ride.
I,m so sorry about your female car
When the radiator leaks, she can,t go far
But she knows you,ll pay the fee
She knows your heart, Micky Dee
ok, how did i miss this, sorry bout that! :(
cute poem :) i enjoyed it and the scenic ride is beautiful.
sorry to hear your lady is having a bit of trouble running.
Hope she feels better soon. It's so hard to let go of what you have for so long! especially when she hss been so faithful. I hope she repairs well and soon. ~aloha nui~
A good poem, I first thought you meant a human then I realised it was something more important than a human being to some.
I don't think you are in that category though.
Another fun hub but sounds like an expensive one to. I love the scenic pics and farms and such as you drive up and down those country roads. I hope you find a way to keep your friend, surely of all the people you know, one must be a great mechanic and can cushion the blow with an offering of service.
On one of my walks the other day. I saw the very same caddy, color and all sitting in someones driveway. Both back tires flat and abandoned looking. I said to my partner, I wonder what happened here. I felt like knocking on the person's door and asking if they were selling it. It seemed a shame, but alas one never knows the stories behind the abandonment. Maybe some one passed away and just left it there to die as well.
Hi, Love the poem, typical man! ha ha love the cars cos they don't nag ya! hee hee and I always love your cycling pictures, another good one lord Mickey! cheers nell
You are a sweety,
and such a gent
I just love the way
this poem went
I like the way you call me queen
The trouble is you don't know where I've been! ha ha hee hee
When the repair bills kept escalating we finally put our 1990 caddy to sleep. Alas! Still miss the old girl! Hope yours gets out of intensive care soon and gives you many more happy years together. :-)
I hate you
I was crying
As I read through
I am not lying
Oh so angry my blood boils
I hate damn cars always female names
poor micky dee his rad has spoiled
worse more so you tricked me into a game
Tonight best lock the house well
Never know who's hunting
I guarantee I'll tell
A certain Predator ah, something
May your car not start
and you see the pull
that tore my heart
with shock now full
listen here, listen to such
I have, and now below and above
cherish you so incredibly much
I do do think I am falling in love
Who could possibly wish badly
on a rad loved madly
Micky Dee
I love Thee
awesome job, do hope it;s not too expensive in the end, my friend
I'm sorry to hear it's toast, but surely will be a survivor with someone like you giving directions.
Please ignore that chick Prey, I love you more anyway!
xo
bless
We do grow attached to our chariots of steel, that transport us away from the monotonies of life. The car seat fits snug, well worn over our bottoms, and sometimes the stale scent of perfume makes us smile. Sure the door squeaks and the brakes squeal, but it is the memories that are passengers there, that make our old cars special. So the radiator took a leak, hissing at you like a snake, and rattled at you till it found its way to a repair shop and left you stranded, guess you'll be putting the petal to two pumps of metal and just bike for a few days. But then you always did enjoy two wheels as well. Superb write~~~MFB III
Cars are pain the backside too bad you can't put them out of their misery like a horse. You still got your bike and loads of friend and live in beautiful surroundings. Many should envy you and your freedom. Peace my friend.
Love it brother!
..your hubs are heaven ... believe me - you are what is good about humanity!
