Honk if you want to see nomoretrucks!
60
The world is full of hockey pucks,
As sure as a politician sucks,
And as sure as young men run amucks,
But you need to know nomoretrucks!
Does are chased by younger bucks.
And what’s good for the geese,
Is good for the ducks.
Give a look-see to this nomoretrucks!
Don’t be concerned,
With what a woodchuck chucks,
Or how many times a chicken clucks,
Have some excitement with nomoretrucks!
Some of his roads,
Can make a tourist horror-struck.
Some sights he’s seen,
Can make a priest awestruck.
He’s been down on his luck,
Without one sawbuck.
And he’s had all his tires,
Stuck in the muck.
Thirty years working on trucks.
Be a fan,
of the man!
Give a honk,
if you want to see,
Or give us a bonk,
if you want to see,
~Micky Dee~
George Jones - I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair
nomoretrucks
This dispossessed Welshman who failed English in school is now a published author.
He’s ridden from Le havre to Faro,Portugal a few times despite not having the “means” to do so! Having no money, eating food from bins, and having no shelter will not stop him! Having a bike made from scrap won’t stop him.
“I learnt some of the true visceral pleasures of life on those trips.”
“You only fail when you actually stop trying at anything.”
He’s had over 30 yrs of jobs and businesses funding “adrenalin based
pastimes”. He says,
“I ended up in lots of trouble physically and metephorically many times. Love
it! Too many broken bones tho...”
He’s been a truck mechanic, had his own lorries. But still misses moto-x, hare and hounds racing and paragliding!
“I also scavenged for stuff using scuba gear all for over 20 years. Although those pastimes are gone the outdoor memories are with you forever. I would like to think someone may be inspired to do some things they think may be out of their comfort zone. Memories are priceless. And writing about them gives me the highs without some of the pain.”
He still likes to “sink” his 21 yr old airwave black magic paraglider of coastal cliffs!
“I’m just glad to feel the mud under my wheels. Or the freedom of a huge sky from a pushbike. Thats where i see the beauty of what we get from life for free-and we mostly all have taken it for granted.”
“If you have done or used anything similar to the things on these hubs id be glad to hear.”
Lorrys
“Do something great or at least die trying.”
He’ll weave you such a story,
Of a lot of pain and little glory,
About overhauling a bicycle,
A motorsickle or lorry.
He knows a little sweat,
And work don’t hurt,
And working for himself,
He can lose his shirt.
His mechanic’s hands,
Have scratches and cuts,
And he’s always busting,
His knuckles and nuts.
He’s been a cyclist, motorcyclist
He’s been a hiker and hitch-hiker.
And each lass he sees,
There’s nobody like her.
He’s told me of some,
Of the adventures he’s had.
One could assume that,
Nomoretrucks was mad.
He’ll hop on a bike,
And ride a few hundred miles.
With bugs in his teeth,
And freedom in his smile.
Then he told me he bonked,
Whenever he could.
He wanted to bonk,
Whenever he got wood.
I began to doubt if we shared,
The same definition.
Whenever I bonk,
It’s all about food and nutrition.
So don’t bonk like me,
Bonk like “NMT”, he’ll tell you how.
He’s bonked his way,
Across a continent now!
He’s bonked in Scotland,
England, Holland, and France.
He even bonked on an island,
Where the women wore no pants.
All his friends know him,
To be quite fickle.
Broke most of his bones,
Racing a motor-sickle.
If head injuries were to allow,
Any thoughts to linger,
He’d say he’s motorcrossed,
His legs and fingers.
But, he’ll be working,
Or hiking, or riding.
Or he’ll be taking,
His paraglider paragliding.
He has a really bad case,
Of that wanderlust.
I’ll be glad when he says,
“North Carolina or bust!”
His lot is not to sit around
dying
or sighing.
He aspires to,
“Do something great or at least die trying.”

Thank you for the introduction, and I will definitely pay a visit. One question, the last time I rode a bike, the bike seat hurt so bad. I was walking bow legged and couldn't feel my legs for a week. Are bike seats comfortable now?
Oh Micky Dee, this is awesome, such a great hub, I love the music and your words are the best ever. Love you rate up darski
Stop! stop! Micky D! i have just almost wet myself though laughing! Just found this You are right Ive just got home in one piece but lost my hat somewhere down near Bilbao and my two Euro sunglasses near Porto. I have been squinting like Charles Bronson for weeks.
Please Don't mention the skirt! as i only wear it in the privacy of my own home! Anyway they are called 'Kilts' my lass Linda Is a Scot but i am only a humble 'Taff' from Wales. Listen, we cant afford the fare to America, so is it Ok if we break off the portion of Britain containing Wales and Scotland and sail it across the Atlantic- possibly anchoring it near Rhode Island(i like the crinkly edges of that place from the sky on Google earth!) I could then ride across to Carolina and have a 'bonk' en-route- possibly alone. Sometimes its best to bonk alone. i have now burnt the rockin chair for firewood. never liked it anyhow. PS i wish i had bought a decent saddle for that bike as my ass is still partially numb!
I cant believe this hub, it one of the best birthday presents i have ever had!. I was 47 on the road- on day 20 in South Portugal-i did 102 miles that day- but it felt like 103!
Blessings, blessings. blessings Thank you very glad MD! I will now give some more coins to our local busker man and put some new second hand brake blocks on my bike- i have just found at the recycling centre(formerly known as the dump/Garbage tip) folk can now see how knobbly my knees are seen as you chose to use that pic. I got down to the Algarve and went to visit Hansi' the old German guy who took the original pic- only to find he had died. God bless him. Life is far to short!! Once again i find this to be true! I shed a tear in the place he took it as this was the very spot the original journey in '07 started from!
Very nice tribute, Micky....and a Scot is always okay in my book!
Ah, his knees are not knobby...lol, he's cute and you're a dear for this tribute and making his day! Will check out his hub!
Thanks Micky, going to check nomoretrucks out right now.
