I Miss Your Rooster Tail!
62
On this day of rain,
And on this day of pain.
The sun is gone.
As the peloton rolls on.
Water dampens all sound,
As our wheels spin around.
The whir of our gears,
Escapes our ears.
Rain drops off every nose,
Coldness runs to toes.
Clouds cover the skies,
Rain shrouds tears in my eyes.
Another day,
Another race,
Another day,
Of rain in my face.
Rain of another day,
Returns to say,
I should not,
Have broken away.
Why do you, rain,
Come back today?
That rain knew,
I couldn’t stay.
I need a pill,
To cure or kill this ill!
But the ride no longer goes,
To Margaritaville.
The love from you,
Could warm my soul.
Might heal my heart,
If truth be told.
That's the only truth,
I can’t entertain.
I have to finish alone,
In the rain.
No need to explain,
This rain of pain,
That keeps this rider,
From being sane.
There’s safety in numbers,
And the peloton.
But I race the clock,
To quickly be gone.
Against all elements,
I continue to rail,
As I sorely miss,
Your lovely rooster-tail!

Hi Micky,
You actually taught me a new word...that of peloton. Professional bike riders riding in a pack can reduce drag by as much as 40% according to Google. I liked your pictures as usual. You made me feel the coldness of the rain via your words while on that ride. About to hit some buttons...
very passionate.
enjoyed!
Wondered about 'The rooster -tail'and what a Preloton is,thanks micky,
jandee
That had to be a chilly ride. The pictures are beautiful, I always love your pictures. Your poetry could be felt. I do not know how you can ride like you do in the rain. I love walking in the rain though. Them buttons were made for dancing. :D hugs :D
A ride with no injuries that is a good ride. How do you dress with just rain gear.I know I use to run and you get chilly in the rain but if you wear a sweatshirt you are too hot.You had to be one or the other.I rather be chilly than hot.
Gosh you are amazing! I would be hopeless on a bike, especially in the rain. Great words and stunning pictures too.
...let me just repeat everything the lovely and talented Acaetnna just said Mister Sir Dee of Micky - although I'm just a mess - and she's beautiful! (and so are you dear brother of mine!)
Micky you are the man :) You rock!!!!!!!
Hi Micky, sorry about the rain, pleased you got back safely to write this. I hope you get better weather next time. We have got cold, wet and windy weather all at once here too. Take care.
Oh My made me think of this
Just singing in the rain
As you cycle down the lane
Causing you such pain
pitter patter on your brain...
A poet I am NOT! Great poem it made me think about riding in the rain, as I have done on both a motorcycle and a bycycle. It hurts regardless! I danced in the rain a time or two and it's fun! Love and Peace :)
Oh my Mikey Dee, you are so lucky to run from the pain, to put the peddle to the metal and dash and run. You are running from something, yes we all know, did I ever tell you, I have a Roaster tail? Love and miss you Darski rate up awesome
I used to love going riding in the rain.. actually doing anything in the rain. I think I should have been born a duck. Great trip Mickey! Very touching, I see much emotion here.
Take care of you Mickey..
Hugs

If ever there were a Micky to see,
The best one would be a Dee!
For in this world of thoughts and poetry,
His words are always something to see!
So run, walk or peddle with me,
and let's go read Michy Dee....
You make me smile, you make me blush.
I did not mean to make you gush.
You need no foolproof plan,
As you captured the mind of this loyal fan.
Wow Micky, you have touched my heart again with this beautiful poem. thank you so much for sharing it. Godspeed. creativeone59
Nice poem! Sometimes a good cold rainy workout clears the soul.
Gees Micky, your ride and rhythm of rhyme
Is so good, just blows my mind
Riding in the rain
Although having some pain
Has got to be joy devine
You're everyone's sweetheart
You're so one-of-a-kind.
An interesting and beautiful verse on cycling but much associated with the trek through life itself. Thanks for sharing, Mick! Up and beautiful! WB
Beautiful
Lovely poem and great pics. I could almost feel the cold rain on my face. Take care
As always, wonderfully written and thanks for another ride with Micky!
Hi Micky i've never done any cycling, but i'm an avid tour de france watcher. It must be so tough to try and break free knowing that big beast is looming up behind you. The rain and slog is tiring but don't you feel fantastic when it's over. I'm off to play in a soccer final NOW! Cheers
Kewl. I was wondering where the Rooster Tail going to fit. Great job old son Mick. Keep wriding now.
Hi, Micky, I love your poem about riding in the rain, I tried it once, fell of and got a pain! ha ha true story! lol cheers nell
I loved this one but it was so unusual from the beautiful pictures you normally take. l had begun to think you lived somewhere where the sun always shines.
Can´t quite believ you keep going in the rain. Take care of your health, please. love, Dim x
I could sense the rain and the hampering it brought you and the sadness of no Magaritaville :( Always enjoy your writing Micky.
Hi I almost felt I was on your bike ride with you Micky.Well actually probably not with you but way behind you more like.
Always great hubs that we all enjoy so much.
Take care Micky.
For some reason I got the idea that a rooster tail was like a cock's crow, as if you were chasing a better time......probably just my overactive brain, but beating the clock, or the roosters crow would be a great goal for a cyclist.~~~MFB III
Hi Micky We lost that soccer final 0-2 We had our main striker out so that made it difficult. I hurt my knee in a tackle, had an MRI scan and was told that soccer was off the menu and i had to wait six months for a knee clean up op'. My mate in our second team works for an orthopedic surgeon. I saw him today and i'm booked in about six weeks time. He said i'll be playing again in ten weeks time. So it's been a great day on the sporting front. Fifty eight is far too young to hang up the boots, although i may have to ease off on those crunching tackles that i have a habit of entertaining. Maybe goalkeeping would be wiser, but................Cheers mate from another fit old git.
