Losing Our Shoes
69
We sought a safe harbor or simple haven.
We found it in the bistro of the Raven.
We shared our tuna and shrimp tacos,
In the little tavern known as Poe's.
I remember the clamor of the crowd.
I remember my being a little proud,
Basking in your beauty and swimming in your charm.
I remember my heart swelling as you took my arm.
We decided to prolong this magical night.
By taking that walk in the bright moonlight.
We removed our shoes to walk in the sand.
Holding the other’s heart as we held each other’s hand
The light from the old lighthouse was flashing.
The wind was blowing as the waves were crashing.
We were holding each other in the light of the moon,
Cherishing and hoping it wouldn’t end too soon.
We walked, talked, and occasionally kissed.
And on the return trip, our trail we missed.
We were so in love with one another to amuse,
We forgot where we were, and lost our shoes.

Did you really lose your shoes? hehehe how cute!
Oh the pleasure and pain of young love! When it hits it hits hard and then we lose something - shoes being the perhaps the least we could lose, hey?
Thanks for sharing a wonderful moment.
Love and peace
Tony
Fantastic - the poetry flows is beautiful and the pictures work really well with it, perfect.
Mick, here is where I'm thick, my eye picked up on the "Micky Dee" in picture one, but I remained baffled when I was done.
Mick, sage? from vulgar Latin? Tell me the secret! I still don't get it, seriously as this poetry thing is new to me except for the old "there was a man from Nantucket" childhood vulgarity stuff. Hammer Jammer was another with poetry. Speaking of him I need to look after him as he's not been in my mail for a while.
Hi Micky, We remember isnt it, sweet and the memories will always stay, at times it is all weve got, we are always glad it happened,
"Lost our shoes" is an allegory, concentrated in the moment and lost in love, you forgot the shoes -- least or most important thing?? hehe,
Just being drown in a love and blissful mood, you can forget anything....
Lovely pictures specially the last one, magical
Take care Micky, Maita
Hey Mickey. I just found out me ex is with someone else now. I am moving on but it does bother me. I love hard and for life. Just the way I am. Great poem and she must have meant alot for you to write this. I know how you feel. Later brother.
Yes Micky, it will be one day, in another arms, another beautiful "beach" , I wish you well, Maita
The last lines of that poem, made my day. Sometimes I can only take 'so much' of romance and that poem was so beautiful, then suddenly I'm laughing till my sides hurt.
Great stuff.
Nice Poem and nice pictures to go with it. Very neat !! Keep it up.
loved it micky :D very *sgh* over worthy yet again loved it
And then we walked back along the road
Arm in arm to lighten the load
For the road was too rough for barefeet to handle
At least one of us longed for a sandal
But the love in our hearts and wonder of it all
Kept the pain at bay, as I recall
But now as I read this the tears just fall.
I love it, beautiful memories of yours. I can imagine the motion pictures because it described very well. I really enjoy reading it. Thank you. ^_^
There is some magical touch of feelings, very readable and deeply felt...
No one really "gets it" like we do, do they? It was so real... so real... more real than almost any of my life's experiences. Magical? Yes. But also absolutely phenomenal. And more... it is cemented in my soul.
Nice work Micky Dee. Really nice pictures.

Micky, there are those who will always be remembered for those special times. Those walks. Gazing into the moon wondering what tomorrow might bring. When these very special people in our lives can manifest themselves in a poem just as you presented it here, it is a blessing. An anchor we can hold onto when it gets crazy and you and I know what it means there.
