Marijuana Lies
86Micky Dee's Motive!
My motive is FAIRNESS!
My overt motive, ulterior motive, my life-time goal is to adhere to the GOLDEN RULE. I will keep driving that "nail" because that nail has not been driven.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!
You cannot truely be a Christian without adhering to that LAW. It cannot be done.
You cannot truly be a religious person at all- unless you adhere to that LAW. Every religion has a version of that LAW.
We cannot consider ourselves "Christ-like" without the Golden Rule.
We cannot turn our heads away from courts that reward the well-to-do and who are represented by lawyers, barristers, and other criminals of the system.
We cannot turn our heads and look away from the unjust incarceration of our people, many who are at the peak of their productive lives.
We need a "JUSTICE SYSTEM" that begins with having punishments fit the crimes and possible outcomes of those crimes.
We cannot have an "INJUSTICE SYSTEM" that falsifies laws, trials, and unfair punishment.
As some readers might realize- I keep trying to commit hub-icide! I just coined that. This is suicide by hub-pages. Let's talk about everything no matter how many readers it may cost me.
I want the GOLDEN RULE strictly promoted and enforced or this country of the United States of America is not "one nation under God"!
Micky: God?
God: Yeah Micky?
Micky:Are you sure about this?
God: Yes Micky. Just do it!
Micky: You think this is funny don't You, God?
God: Yep! I do.
Micky: You know I don't like this "heat". I have a beard and long hair! Well, where it's not bald anyway. God- I want a low profile. Please? Please? Let someone else write this one?
God: So you want to write what you want?
Micky: I guess not. I mean- everything I see -I have to see through You. I guess you can write through me. But coming through Micky Dee- it's going to be "ruff"!
God: What else you gotta do today?
Micky: "Presactly"!
Stereotyping! Propaganda!
One of the worst ways of demonizing is to stereotype. Paint a picture of naked girls with booze, cannabis, etc. Create a false "life-style for "users". Many representations of any "vices" can be absolutely false. The old "KOOL" cigarette ads come to mind. A handsome smoker gets the pretty girl and they're both enjoying the great "KOOL" outdoors.
The same can be said for the propaganda for and against cannabis. Cheech and Chong come to mind. Many exaggerations about products do harm!
It seems that some of the dumbest messages are promoted by those who use!
Tell the truth!
Some of the dumbest promotions against "using" are out-right lies and ridiculous.
Researching the internet for info I came across websites that were "for" legalizing cannabis which were ludicrous. It should turn most "self respecting citizens" (if there are any really) OFF toward legalizing cannabis.
On the other hand there are websites that are against cannabis and in such a way that they too are ridiculous. And indeed these "sites" and messages turn people away.
Neither do justice to the truth.
History of Weed
America’s First Marijuana Law
In 1619, before America was born, we had America’s first marijuana law at JamestownVirginia. It “ordered all farmers to “make trial of” (grow) Indian hemp seed. More “must grow hemp” laws were enacted in Massachusetts in 1631 and in Connecticut in 1632.
In England, foreigners who grew cannabis were given citizenship.
Cannabis was legal tender (money) for most of the Americas from 1631 to the early 1800s.
You could pay your taxes for hundreds of years with hemp in America. You could be jailed for “not” growing it.
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew hemp. While in France Jefferson took great risks and expense to smuggle hemp seeds out of China and into Turkey- illegally! The political leaders of China considered the exportation of their seeds –a capital offense!
Benjamin Franklin started one of America’s first paper mills with cannabis as “paper”.
Marijuana and hashish were the second or third most prescribed medicines in the United States from 1842 until the 1890s.
Tooth-ache?
Cannabis hemp is the strongest, most durable natural soft fiber on earth.
In 1942 the Japanese cut off the supply of Manila hemp. The US government distributed 400,000 pounds of cannabis seeds to American farmers from Kentucky to Wisconsin.
Eli Whitney cotton gins were replaced by European-made industrial looms and gins. It was now cheaper to produce cotton than hemp.
FYI- 50% of all chemicals used in American agriculture are used in cotton growing.
The first and second drafts of the Declaration of Independence were written on Dutch (hemp) paper.
The history of cannabis would go back beyond history.
Peace Bud: Hemp Conspiracy TV Premiere
Some Uses
The US Pharmacopoeia indicated it should be used in ailments such as fatigue, fits of coughing, rheumatism, asthma, delirium tremens, migraine headaches, and cramps and depressions associated with menstruation.
Queen Victoria applied cannabis resins menstrual cramps and PMS . The Queen reigned from 1837 to 1901. This period paralleled the enormous growth of Indian cannabis medicines throughout the Western World.
There are many, many uses of hemp. Cloth, paper, rope, clothes, medicines, oils, protein, building materials, etc.
Teething?
“Break Through In Papermaking”
If hemp was legally cultivated using 20th Century technology, it would be the single largest agricultural crop in the United States and the world today.
This article was prepared in February 1937 when hemp was still legal to grow.
One acre of hemp, in annual rotation over a twenty year rotation period would produce as much pulp for paper as 4.1 acres of trees being cut down in a 20 year period. This process would eliminate 75% and more of chemicals to spoil our water supplies.
State of the art hemp fiber stripping machines were available in the mid-1930s. Timber, paper, and large newspaper holding companies like Randolph Hearst’s Kimberly Clark could lose billions and even go belly up.
It just so happens Dupont just patented a sulphuric acid process for wood pulp paper. Had hemp not been made illegal, 80% of Dupont would not be and the pollution of their existence would not have taken its toll as it has. Secret meetings were held- you know –much like today!
Why Marijuana Remains Illegal
Hatred
Hearst’s hatred and lies would fan wars and laws passed. Hearst fueled the flames for the Spanish-American War.
They began a yellow journalism campaign to outlaw marijuana. Car accidents involving alcohol would outnumber those cannabis related incidents 1,000 to 1. But if a marijuana cigarette was found in the ashtray, that story made front page while more alcohol related stories went to the back of the paper.
At some point Poncho Villa seized some of Hearst’s finest timberland. He denounced Spaniards, Latinos, Mexican-Americans. Hearst, for decades, would portray the Mexican as pot smoking and lazy.
1910 to 1920 saw Hearst reporting that the majority of Negroes raping white women could be traced directly to cocaine. After that ten year period, Hearst now saw that it wasn’t cocaine crazed Negroes raping white women. It was marijuana crazed Negroes raping white women.
Willie Nelson: Hemp and the Family Farm
Facts, Figures, Truths- that you won't ever care about!
There are so many sordid facts and figures I could put on this hub. I could tell you about George Herbet Walker Bush, GW’s father, being with the CIA, about his oil company being named Zapata Oil. I could say something about the Bay of Pigs tied into that. I could mention the ties that he had with Dan Quayle’s father and the Ely Lilly company. Oh, I guess I could say that Dan Quayle was a go-between for drug kingpins, gun runners, and other officials with the Iran-Contra scandal. I could say that the Bushes are large shareholders of Lilly, //abbot, Bristol, Pfizer, etc. I won’t though.
I won’t tell you anything like that because “you” don’t want to hear it.
I simply will not tell you that Bush lobbied illegally within and without the administration as Vice President in 1981 to permit drug companies to dump obsolete, unwanted, domestically banned substances on unwary Third World countries.
But I’m not going to do that. It would hurt my back to sit here and type this tripe almost as it would tire you out to read this dribble. Besides- let’s face it –to read stuff like this could turn our Disneyland Fantasyland upside down.
I certainly won’t try to educate you on the fact that in 1981 Vice President Bush was ordered to stop lobbying the IRS for special tax breaks for the drug companies, on behalf of the Supreme Court itself.
Nope! I’m not telling you any of that.
It would even muddy the murky waters to dwell on either political party since both are abetting this crime.
Hemp is not "smoking" Cannabis!
Hemp does not have THC.
There is more use for hemp (buzzless cannabis) than for smoking marijuana!
the great cannabis conspiracy
So what’s the buzz about?
It’s really not much of a buzz.
It’s probably better for you than too much caffeine.
It’s certainly better than alcohol if one chose to alter their mood.
You can drink, and in no time at all, enough booze to render you unconscious.
As I bicycle around America, I see the empty beer cans and bottles form too many "drinking and driving" excursions. There are way too many alcoholic beverage containers on the sides of the roads. There are many "clean-ups" by nearby residents to get rid of the unsightly recyclable waste. The empty containers are quickly replaced.
Too many people are drinking and driving!

This is a racial crime perpetrated by the United States injustice system!

To ignore this plight and blight and this crime against the poor and people of color in our country is one of the worst crimes of all.

Being able to trust someone to tell you of a danger- all the time - builds trust.
Lying about one "thing" can break "trust".
Lie about pot. "They" research. "They" learn the truth.

Drinking vs Smoking
Below is a famous actor after drinking.
Never- never have I seen or heard of this from smoking cannabis!
You can eat cannabis and feel badly.
It is infeasible to smoke cannabis and fall this "low".
In Vietnam - a man drinking will pass out on guard duty.
After drinking enough, a man or woman will pass out- uncontrollably -at war, at the wheel, at anything!
I am not advocating either! I am saying that I will permit tests on me regarding my statements.
I am saying if the greatest cyclist in the world will drink as much as I want him to-
I will smoke as much as he wants me to.
I'm 60 years old and I will beat him soundly! Let's do it.
Meanwhile- this is a victimless crime for the most part -much less than alcohol.
I have seen alcoholics become new people giving up alcohol for cannabis.
I'm saying - take this "crime" and astigmatism off our people.
A man- out of control!
Many drinkers will have a glass of wine with a meal. Many will be responsible.
The same and more can be said for folks who might sit out on their decks with a cannabis cigarette! Most "smokers" are not "Cheech and Chong". They are doctors, lawyers, professional people of all types.
The real difference is "they" don't go to jail like Negroes and Latinos!
Quit supporting racial policies!
Quit supporting policies against the poor!

As usual Mickey Dee you put it all out there in your hub for all to see. I sure appreciate you. Way to go! Must have been a rasta in a past life eh, lol.
I love Hemp! I loved your hub ! :) Very interesting reading and videos as well! Cheers !
LOL! Today I'm only saying hi ! LOL
Good hub Micky, I've often found myself scratching my head trying to figure out the logic behind pot being illegal and alcohol legal. Cropping hemp would do soooo much for our economy and ecologically as well. I enjoyed this read!
You obviously put a lot of work into this hub. Drink and drugs can be harmful if they are used to excess.
Drinking to excess has become almost acceptable nowadays. You are looked upon as someone not quite normal if you think it is wrong. Taken in moderation most things are fine.
One thing is certain: no goverment wants to stop smoking or drinking because most of the cost is actually tax.
Drug taking is definitely not something new but we only hear the bad side. Don't forget also, that governments like to control and making all drugs illegal, except pharmaceutical drugs, is a form of control. They have not come up with an ethical way to tax these products, so that could be another reason.
On the other hand, someone in good health does not need them. Like alcohol and smoking, constant use makes us dependent. I am glad I never went down that route but it is not really for me to judge anyone who does.
Anyway, as usual a good hub.
I read this twice and i know that i will still read it over and over again.Bro Micky, i thought that i have seen the best of you but i was wrong, this 103 is the bomb.I love the way you put all the information in this hub, it is educative and can fit into a school scheme.I have nothing much to chip in but bro Micky, i have this dedications for you and fellow hubbers.
Excellent, I couldn't have said it better myself. I say legalize it, tax it & regulate it. I know first hand from my alcholic father that booze is the real drug people should be worried about. Yes, many people can drink socially, but I see a whole new generation of drinkers that think social drinking is doing shots & gettin' drunk & then driving possibly. I spoke to a recovering addict the other day by chance & he told me that booze was the gateway drug to him & that pot did nothing for him. He explained to me that they are two entirely different things. Remember with pot you are aware of what you are doing. You are not totally out of it.
I never ever had to go and scrape the remains of any Marines out of a vehicle when I was stateside, who died as a result of marijuana. And I went to quite a few, one time there were four marines in a station wagon that went airborne and horseshoed itself around a great big tree. There was not enough left of them to bury. A recovery team basically cut out the squashed metal where they were crushed into pulp and later the families buried the blocks of metal that contained them. Each accident was the result of drinking....I never had to go and stop any domestic violence over marijauna, it was always booze.
Marijuana tends to make drivers paranoid, they actually drive much more careful for fear of being busted and because it heightens all of their senses. Plus they aren't usually on the road long before munchies cause them to park at the nearest drive through restautant. I have seen men who have murdered others because they were drunk. But no one is in the mood for murder when they are smoking hooch.
It also is a tremendous asset to cancer patients, glaucoma, and may other diseases that it can help take a sick persons mind off of the pain, the nausea and so many other side effects. I say let's close all the bars, and open some real joints where you can smoke or drop a THC tablet and cop a buzz peacefully. Crime will drop in this country, E.R.'s will be less crowded, politics won't matter so much
because most everyone is happy, and the taxes on the crops and the sales will pay for health care reform, and then some. Great Hub Mickey.~~~MFB III
Fascinating Hub. I appreciate the education I received reading it. Given the diabetes epidemic due to obesity, sugar ought to be outlawed. :>) Or, to escape my particular weakness, how about outlawing pizza? :>)
Great job here. Politically speaking, I have very strong libertarian leanings, so I'll be thinking through all this for awhile. Thanks for the brain fodder.
Wow you put heaps of work into this, how amazing. Loved it. xo
Mick, I hope one day we might burn a big old fashioned Blunt! I like my marijuana I love hash, brownies with weed are the bestest after dinner treat. It came from God not a laboratory, and all things from God are good. Here is a favorite of mine as I dig Willie Nelson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDQANmQO2g0
Good and good for what ails you. I've smoked the worst and I've burnt the best, give me Thai sticks of buds any old day! or send me to Amsterdam for a dose of their hash or Afghanistan for poppy oil to smear on a cigarette. I sit in the corner with a smile on my face not hurting no one, just letting go of the weight of the world and getting spiritual.
Micky
This is really fascinating stuff..I will have to re-read to take it all on board. It's curious isn't it?
You know in Germany 75% of psychiatists prescribe a natural remedy for depression called St John's wort,it grows everywhere and it's inexpensive-you can buy it over the counter in Health food stores.
In Ireland it has been banned, despite its known efficacy...it's deemed better for one to go and get some pharmaceutical chemical that truly screws you up and costs a fortune.
The Big Pharmas Rule and we all know who's who in that world.
Brave hub,brilliantly done.
Micky, you are spot on, and I echo all of the comments made above, it's criminal (literally) that our society does what it does to protect BigPharma and the Booze Barons.... way to go Micky...
Why are people so blind and scared?
John
BTW thanks for the link, I've also linked this hub from mine!
Excellent hub covering so much. Man Zoloft making 575 million wow - and all the others - huge. I often thing how much of the environment would be saved using hemp for paper etc. As for drug laws how can tobacco and booze be legal, half the over the counters legal and pot illegal. You pointed out a few reasons why. I am a huge believer in taking responsibility for oneself - obviously we need guidance but how about the consistency from our illustrious hypocritical leaders.
Exactly it amazes me sometimes how people see what they want to see when it is right in front of them like a perverse delusion.
Hooray for the hub! I say legalize weed and outlaw alcohol. The world would be a happy place. Everyone would love each other and appreciate the yummyness of munchy snacks. lol I haven't smoked in years but I think I smoked enough for 10 people most of my life. I say let us all raise a glass of "illegal" wine and toast the "legal" puff puff pass. :)
I love this hub. I love Micky Dee :)
Thank you, a lot of hard work here. You are loved :)
am linking your hub to some friends. again thank you!
lets get to the point here, As children, we were planting hemp in the Philippines when we were young, our parents use it as medicines and we were never addcited, we played on the plantation and run around through it. There were nobody who is addcited to it int he village, we didnt even know its other uses. I never understand why it is illegal, hehe -- crazy world.
Thank you Mick, take care, Maita
Terced_Ojos is A Christian man who has smoked marijuana in the past.
I have no ambiguous feelings or trepidations about my faith and the legalization of cannabis. Too many good things that can be done with this product.
If anything we should try and ban alcohol again that stuff destroys lives and spirits.
Anything you abuse will hurt you. Man you could abuse peanut butter if you wanted to.
Legalize it. May the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Micky Dee - You did an amazing job with this hub. I have never researched the history Marijuana. It was really quite interesting. I started smoking pot at around the age of 13. Back then I did a lot of other drugs including psychedelics. Drugs were escape from the pain. So yes, I abused drugs, wasn't happy unless my brain was literally fried.
After many years of therapy and peeling back the layers, taking the pain out and working through it. I have no reason to self medicate. Do I still enjoy Marijuana on occasion? You bet I do! but in moderation. Will I ever turn down a chance to get high, in a social setting? Probably not till the day I die. I can enjoy a beer, a glass of wine or a few tokes. Which one would I prefer? The tokes.
I don't mean to make this sound like I use all the time, because that is not so. I use occasionally, in moderation and never to self medicate for emotional reasons. I am a responsible user and would never drink or smoke and get behind the wheel. I liked the videos they were great and the drug companies make millions.
You did an awesome job, I am 52 years old and I am right there with you. I do honestly believe that alcohol is a far worse drug.
And I will get on my bike this year, You bet! You should of included Jonathan Edwards, Song Shanty.
Great Job,
Sage
very detailed and informative hub, you seem to have left nothing out.......
Outta sight hub: when I saw the title I said "no he didn't!" Yes the great lie . . that's exactly what I've called this propaganda myself. Especially now that the medical benefits that have come forth now what?
I call it the "Great American Lie", speared on with programs such as the old "Dragnet" TV series. I watch these sometimes on the computer and they're a hoot, peppered with so much miss-information.
Rating this one and sharing. I love it . . you're the best my friend excellent writing with a sprinkle of cahonies (sic) !!
This is amazing hub, I can say to you that this is very complete in one package between dialog, article, fact, picture and video. If I have three thumbs. I give three thumbs for you. I am glad to read all the information you gave to us.
Note: I send my address to your contact mail. Please take a look.
Thank you very much
Prasetio
MickyD, I do realize how hard you worked on this hub and I feel you have presented your case quite well. However, with all do respect to you, I can not say I agree. I'm against drinking and driving as well. I also support MADD (mothers against drunk driving) Since I like your writing style, please excuse me while I go read your other hubs. :)
Well done Micky, God bless the real American Constitution written on Hemp. So many of our societies' problems are tied to this cycle of greed and fear surrounding a plant the Great Spirit gave to help humanity. Well done. Amazing to think that drug companies are now allowed to advertise on television, products whose side effects may include "death", but a plant whose benefits have been known for thousands of years is kept from hard working Americans. Thanks for getting the word out.
Micky Dee! You have a fan in me! I so hope that people really take the time to put some thought into this and what you are saying. Some already have, based on the comments above. I so agree with your statements, ESPECIALLY your comments in regards to our children. It is so easy to forget that they are free thinking little humans that have to experience this world for themselves, with or with out the propaganda we would prefer they believe.
Imagine the tax revenues, imagine the stigma being gone, imagine the healing!!! I think this world has lost it's common sense much less it's belief in the golden rule. This hub is definately golden though! Think I'll take my perch on the deck and ponder it a little longer! Soldier on...with love and gratitude :)
This is a controverse subject (also here where I live). But, as always, you put it like it is. Great hub, there´s nothing like the truth.
When I see so many young people drinking alcool here I think to myself what it would be like if it was forbiden... I believe it would be worst!
I´m not sure if legalization it´s the solution but at least it should be depenalized!
Lets go for a ride :)
Every time I come to one of your hubs the sun comes up and the sun goes down before I finish it.Well I enjoyed this day like no other.I have never been a smoker.I have friends that do smoke and they are the most laid back non aggressive and understanding people while (high) or not.I also have my brother who is the most arrogant and hurtful person while drunk before and after.I see the living proof.I have watched and learned so much today. Thanks again for a little enlightment along my journey through life. All I can say * * * * * top notch all the way.
Once again, you have produced a terrific hub. I appreciate all the energy and effort you put into research.
I lived many years in fear. Fear of an abusive spouse, and fear of the "danger of drugs". After doing a little of my own research, I discovered I had nothing to fear! And, as an added bonus, I discovered the strength to leave the abuser. Win Win!
Great hub, again. Thanks.
I used to smoke pot a long time ago-over 25 years ago-never bothered again with it. I think it has many theraupetic things going for it but of course it would never be legalized because you know who would lose money on it and not be able to promote the big pharm companies that rake in the money.
If I had cancer-or illnesses--I would smoke it again easily. I do stay away from men and woman who smoke too much of it though. Those who can't function without it--I got problems with that in my life and have seen many a lazy man after continually smoking too much pot. I hate it as much as I hate a man who drinks too much.
Funny, just reading the newspaper a few days ago--girl arrested for smoking pot and causing a car accident. Hmmmmmm. Some people can not handle anything in "moderation".....
Hey Micky--not sure if this last post was for me--the ranting--I could care less if people smoke dope--I just don't associate closely with anyone who is constantly high on alcohol-pills-pot--using it as a crutch to live and cope. Big difference. I was not advocating anything or discrediting you in any way, shape or form. I don't want to create a hub saying MickyDee is full of crap--because alcohol should go way before pot does. They do not legalize pot because it is more profitable to the big pharm companies to keep people relying on those horrid pills that control them-than a bag of weed that treat cancer and a zillion other things.
So if you are ranting at me--well---you need to understand taht people are going to agree and disagree--but me? I just feel that people should live a good, peaceful life without any unneccesary pain. My personal opinion--after dealing with huge, pot smokers--drinkers--losers--lazy and unmotivated--I just don't hang around them. A casual user is much different than a person who lives to get high--and does not live in reality. Don't be upset with people who don't choose to have that around them....it is not a judgement call on you. It is an opinion that I have. I don't choose to be associated with anyone who uses heavy on anything-pharm pills-alchol--the worst--drug users as well as heavy pot smokers...I have seen it all--and choose someone who likes to live drug free and high on God :)
Micky, indeed an interesting concept. But first I must say, your daughter is very lucky to have a father who clearly understands and shares many values too many don't choose to possess.
Also I'm thinking maybe we are suppose to fail in mistakes striving for perfection, obviously to learn from it and strengthen our faith each time even more.
Horrific what alcohol does, my father got sober but far too late. His suicide a month ago warranted an autopsy even though the bullet was still in his head, but here's what I mean, he was sober a decade an an autopsy report shows his alcohol level was 4.0 and it's hard to get higher than that. That's how intoxicated and completely in no control of his behavior. Sad, he surely was so drunk probably didn't even know he blew his head off, out of the blue.
Now I am not a drinker 1 because I am a black out crazy fool on alcohol and 2 medications and a problem for my recovery of heroin and cocaine addiction.
Weed makes me paranoid so this I avoid, also due to my recovery, but I say this
Weed smokers, and here in Canada are many, but I hear nor read any fatal repercussions from it's use. Mostly smokers just chill at home.
Alcoholics, while they are in a disease, if they do not arrest and abstain from any mood altering chemicals, they are guaranteed with no exception to quickly or shortly have one or more of the following outcomes;
Jail, Institutions or death. Fact. Sadly, take lives of innocent bystanders on the way.
May alcoholics find their way to recovery and get sober.
In my opinion I would absolutely make alcohol illegal and give a shit about weed. Then it opens the question to other drugs that have the same effect of alcohol, but that's another hub which I have done many on.
Thank you for this Hub, people, we, me need to have this isue top of mind, and this hub does that
Cheers
Kimberly
By the Way
is that shirt getting smelly yet?
xoxoxo
Micky - I'm right with you on this. I posted hee earlier but something went crazy and the comment got lost - don't know what happened but there you are, now unfortunately I can't share my great wisdom any more! I've forgotten all those gems I had written. Too sad.!
What it does mean is that I get another shot at giving this great Hub another thumbs up, which it thoroughly deserves!
Thanks again my brother. When I get to feeling wise again maybe I'll come back here and give you another thumbs up and share whatever pearls there are!
Love and peace

Interesting hub apart from the god thing. I dont so the god thing.
Margolis in his excellent book on drugs called alcohol a 5th rate depressant. He warned against using such a depressant as a social drug.
Marijuana is safer to use long term than any drug I can name, prescription or recreational.
I have a friend in his seventies who is a well known intellectual with a brilliant mind.
He has been smoking daily for 45 years. He has short term memory loss when he is stoned but memory returns when he takes a break. He starts smoking at about 8am every day.
THC Delta 9 is the active constituent and it has it's own neural pathway in the body, so if I were a god-botherer I could say "God made us to have marijuana"
Anyway, comprehensive hub and some radical thoughts.... I like that!
Great hub micky. presented beautifully. Hemp was made illegal because it was cutting into the profits of the plastics and paper industry. Hemp has alot of properties Clothes made of hemp lasts 4 or 5 years. Hemp is not illegal because they care about what's its gonna do to you or me. Its illegal because it was cutting into the money of the elite. That's it. That's why I am a fan you keep it real ~hugs~
I am always happy when I make time to read your no-nonsense hubs. I smoked many years in my youth, then took a twenty year break - now back to occasionally enjoying a spliff or two. As always your hubs are filled with fact based information backing up your opinion. Your opinions are totally in line with mine. Continue my friend.... continue doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. I think it is now 4:20

Am I glad you dropped my hubs, Micky! This hub is fantastically informative and indeed, eye candy for we folks who get off on funny old ads. You know, Mr. Dee, I am in the oddest situation regarding this marijuana business. I used to smoke in the early 70's, then I got paranoid and hid in closets, so I no longer indulge. I would love to get high, but am a full-fledged addict/alcoholic, so that's all out, too.
Well. As my generation used to say, "Bummer."
Anyhow, this was a blast to read, and I think you've got a new fan.
PS: Oh, and I forgot to tell ya I'm quitting smoking! Jeeze!
If you can handle the truth without being in denial, then here's a Marijuana story of what smoking weed did to someone... I think most potheads don't have the guts to admit how miserable they can become because of marijuana. But for those who want the truth, here it is http://stop-smoking-weed.org
Wonderful hub Micky. I have been using Hemp on and off for 40 years and it never killed my brain cells. I agree with Earnest....his words.....Marijuana is safer to use long term than any drug I can name, prescription or recreational. As long as drug companies keep pushing toxic drugs with side affects and still raking in multi million $$ of profit, the governments will try to keep marijuana illegal. It's a crying shame to be putting innocent every day abiding citizens in jail for smoking a herb..NOT A DRUG and being HAPPY and EUPHORIC instead of consuming booze and puking, disorderly, drunkeness and deadly driving and killing people while under the influence of BOOZE..My senses are heightened when I smoke and I am much more alert and careful, drinkers on the other hand are a danger to themselves and others on the road. Great HUB Micky, whether you smoke or not doesn't matter, but thank you for presenting a great HUB A HUGE UP from the saddle.
I love the truths, I believe you have 15 states and more on the way legalizing medical marijuana, it's about time, Canada is right behind you. It's been a struggle, but the politicians are seeing the light as they lift the fog from in front of their faces. California alone would get them out of financial ruin by legalizing the growth, just think of the taxes they would derive, billions of dollars. Anyway enough said from Saddle, I'm off to vaporize...lol
I have seen the violence associated with alcohol and the destruction it does to the body, mind and spirit and yet it is legalized and let's not forget the dangers of prescription drugs.
God: "Micky - you did a great job son!" :)
Very glad you found me to connect as friends Micky! Exceptionally well written. Have considered moving back up to Canada to grow it. At least up there its not illegal to produce products in some parts. The rejuvenation of land from hemp is something almost every farm needs these days - cleanse the poisons from all those perfectly manicured lawns adn golf courses (oops - too much truth?)
I'd be more than happy to meet you in those international waters any day :) There is true peace once we grasp how free and loving it is to only do unto as we would have done to us. With that, we can move at the speed of trust - stop with the games and doubt and "each man for himself" crap that has never, ever produced a productive community or awakening synergism in any form.
Not "hub-icide" - looking forward to reading more of your hubs and getting to know you better!
LOVED this Mickey!
You bring up so many great points! You remind me of something I've written, but I'll post it someplace you'll find it as not to disrupt the continuum here.
EXCELLENT style, prose, truths, and media my friend.
If you drink too much water, you drown. If you smoke too much, be it weed, cigarettes or whatever else, be ready to welcome some sort of addiction, breathing difficulties and a sooner death. It all depends what you are smoking and how much of it but you "gotta pay to play" any which way you look at it. That's if you want to play ...
Took me like ten years from the time my sister told me that "you can get a lot higher without drugs than with drugs" to the time I actually understood what she meant. Drugs do help though, in terms of being high.
There's a stoned comment lol
Incredible hub, here, Micky.
I´ve read it twice but still need to go back to take it all in.
I know how right you are about the terrible things that can happen when someone is drunk, cannabis users are jist not in the same category at all as drunks. (Start the war without me, was a catchphrase with many hippies I knew in the 60s.) They were far too laid back to cause a fight,.
My favourite part of this hub just has to be the adverts from years ago. Cocaine, morphine. Hee Hee That´ll keep the little darlings quiet and no teething troubles either. Priceless!!!!!! Love you, man. x
Every single thing, it seems, even Coca Cola had drugs in it. The modern day drug companies don't want it legalized because they would lose money on their synthetic drugs offered to everyone. Good hub, could not agree more. I don't want my kids to do it, but I don't want them to drink even Less, but yet alcohol is legal and a drug, is a drug is a drug. Great hub. Ya think the advertisers will pick on this one?
Micky- If you ever find that Golden Rule, let me know. Got to go roll
Holy Smokes! Not sure I've seen many hubs with about ten hubs worth of material in the comments before!
Thanks for the history lesson. Great post brother.
I think you would be very interested in watching my free 12 minute video at http://hubpages.com/hub/Half-Price-Pipes
This video proves cannabis laws are unconstitutional.
Glad to see someones awake lol.
Can you help me wake up the rest of America? Its a shame i don't have no where else to go haha.
Micky, loved your hub. This was fantastic. thank you for being so honest. I agree with you and many of your comments
Hey Dusty; My special brownies are the best! LOL
We all have vices, may it be OCD, Shoplifting, Praying, Smoking, drinking, lying. Everyone has a vice. Lets not put someone down for theirs.
They call me the Growing Granny around these here parts. hehe

oh, I forgot voted up and sharing
You are very welcome.
Ah, we had been in this road before so you knew very well my opinion about this. Still, more information about Marijuana will never hurt at all. Thank you, King Micky.
That was a great hub. I have food allergies and so depend on hemp protein - which has to be imported from Canada. ????
Plus, I take quite a few pain meds that are regulated and legal but highly addictive. I, and many with EDS, would benefit from Canibus for our chronic pain. Although I do have access to it here in Maine, the mere fact that I h.ave teens in the house makes me shy away from it. Not because I am against it, but I am for encouraging legal behavior. Like it or not, it is illegal and my kids need to follow the law. They can work to change it as adults. There is also the physiology of their changing brains. I used to hate the alcohol rule until I understood the time table of brain developement. Kids are vulnerable until around 22. This isn't a legal or moral thing. Lots of things affect that brain development including toxins in our environment. So, that's why I don't pursue it with my doctors; for now any way.
GOD bless you and keep getting the message out. EZEKIEL 34:29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear shame of the heathen any more. All knowing and graceful loving GOD gave it to the earth for all. Help stop world starvation, grow hemp for food now!

- Cannabis Cures Cancer - "Run From The Cure" The Rick Simpson Story
This will be a short hub, because the 'message' is in the video linked to this. One of the big problems we face today is the fact that the big drug companies (BigPharma) have set out to stop all natural...

ohhh... A delicate subject...
I enjoyed your arguments for it, Mickey.
I am sorry I am not able to give an opinion on it. My son has been asking me about it and I present the facts to him, raw.
