Oh Deer! Don't Fawn Over Me!
65These are pictures and videos from my back yard.
The pics and videos were taken months ago.
The fawns are surly teenagers now. They are still beautiful though!
The video directly below is not mine but the music is very pretty!
Three videos are mine and some of the cutest deer videos ever.
When God wanted earth's angels he created deer !
Oh Deer! Don't Fawn Over Me!
I sat out here on a day quite clear.
Bored and waiting for anything to appear.
There were birds but something else caught my ear.
What came along but a few dear deer!
Micky's 08-12-09 Oh Deer! Don't Fawn Over Me! 01
Some fawns and mother deer were near.
They seem naive and appear to not fear.
They are such lovely beasts to endear.
The deer is an animal without any peer.
Micky's 08-12-09 Oh Deer! Don't Fawn Over Me! 02
What a beautiful creature for God to engineer!
It was the prettiest sight all year.
Micky's 09-11-09 Oh Deer! Don't Fawn Over Me! 03
I thought this sight would bring a tear.
I wanted to cheer but I made myself leer,
At this glorious sight that would soon disappear.

I'm sorry, but all I can think of is venison sausage and jerky. Uncle Mike's. LOL
Surly teenagers? I love it. Thanks for a bit of nature. I need it because I live here in NYC - and we have a different kind of wildlife - which is fun too!
Wow!Awesome pictures! You must have a pretty big yard, Micky Dee. Thanks for sharing the photos and the video.
I loooove...thank you Micky :-)
That's beautiful MD. All of this in your backyard too!! What a sight!!
My brother once lived in a home where deer came up in his backyard and he was able to hand feed them. It really thrilled him when the mother deer trusted him enough to bring her twins in close enough for him to hand feed them also. Nice hub Micky!!!
Micky you are an inspiration, it is so nice to have people like you around in a sometimes seemingly god less world. The photos videos, and words a reflection of a very beautiful person, thank you with all my heart.
oh my i loved this hug, made me feel so good, especially since i just got home from hospital yesterday, thank you for this refreshing look at life. you always can bring in humor no matter what is happening, not many can do this. thank you for that reminder Micky, thank you :) ~aloha~
Beautiful hub! We have lots of deer around here, too.
Is that Bambi in your backyard Micky?
I love you!!!!!!!
:)
Micky,
I really loved your deer videos.I went to see Bambi when i was a kid.I,VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO EAT DEER. people who kill animals are heartless .
This is nice.. These are cute ones.. My heart breaks when sometimes I find them in road accidents.
Micky.. Good to know you are evolving .. :)
I thought this sight would bring a tear.
I wanted to cheer but I made myself leer,
At this glorious sight that would soon disappear.
Bro,these last words are ,motivational,i love them bcos they cheered me.
Reminds me of growing up on the outskirts of Seaside, Oregon, foggy and dewey mornings and through the fog you could see the dear grazing in the field behind are house, they are awesome creature's. Great hub, pics and videos.
What beautiful creatures! Thank you for this pleasure.
Awesome! We live on a wetlands and see quite a few but it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful they are. I love the young bucks and the fawns most of all. Some are so tame here that they lay in folks' backyards when it gets blistering hot. Great thoughts on the beautiful of wildlife, Micky Dee.
There were two deer in my neighborhood yesterday morning that came prancing around one corner at the same time that me and the dogs came around another corner and we had a doggy/deer stand off for like 3 minutes. I've never been so close to a deer...it was like 12 feet away. The deer didn't budge, nor did the dogs. People were pulling over watching in their cars. lol I thought for sure I was going to get dragged. Wonderful hub. Deer are so beautiful and so fast!
Beautiful, beautiful Micky Dee. It must be a joy to live where you live. I love the videos and the music you used with the first one. I need to go over and read your poetry. Very good Micky Dee.
hey Mick, they are beautiful, good filmings, Thank you, Maita
Wow MD we got those there Deer in Scotland but i never realised they were in your neck of the woods. Me and Linda rode by a few in the pine forest near us on our bikes. Your mates look a little tamer though. beautiful creatures. Great pics, you happy soul you.
Do you have a salt lick? I met up with a fawn in the woods once, with no others in sight, near a pond and it let me stand beside it, just a foot from it but if I lifted a hand to pet it, it would stomp both front hoofs hard on the ground, but still wouldn't leave. It was a wonderful experience. I think of it often.
Looks like you have a pretty nice yard. I love watching animals when they don't know they're being watched and just act naturally. Very interesting. I like that little deer going crazy, running about his/her family in one of your vids. Thanks.
About a year ago, I was sitting in a park and was lucky enough to bear witness to a Canadian Geese battle. It was two rival, um, gaggles(?) and they full on charged each other. One of the bigger Geese seemed to take the role of General and as he honked his gaggle would stop or attack. I couldn't believe it. And sadly, I didn't have a camera. It made me consider the potential of a Discovery Channel-esque Goose Show.
Mic, I love to watch deer with their young in spring, the fawns frolic and play. I must admit I eat them through the year along with Elk and in the fall I go north and hunt. God made them for mans use and they meet the given criteria of multiple stomachs (5) They chew their cud and sport cloven hooves and are much healthier than beef. Oh yeah, tasty too.

Hi Micky, this was great. And what a backyard to have! Spring is slowly awakening here. In another month, it will be time for winter again.
Namaste.
Beautiful pictures and videos, reminds me of the four deer I saw standing next to a road side here; I enjoyed reading your article :)
Micky - this Hub is jusst awesome, really! I am moved beyond words. And that Enya vid is superb!
Thanks for sharing so much.
Love and peace
Tony
I support the protection of wild animals! !
Micky, Thank you for this hub - I will bookmark it.
The deer having its face washed has an expression that says "Oh do I have too". The music was a good background to the hub. Watching the videos and reading this hub - was good, much better than watching the murder and mayhem programmes on TV.
Cool hub brother. What do you call a deer with no eyes ? No eye deer. LOL.
"...without a soul the eye cannot see."
Very beautiful, perfect and pretty. Thanks again! I'm smiling.
one of the most gentle and lovely of creatures, far too often a target for those who enjoy the thrill of the kill,
and far too many are being pushed out of their habitats by suburbia encroachment, loved the pics!~~~MFB III
Sweet little fawn. Mostly I think of deer as car killers because I live in the country. Very nice pictures. A great write too.
Awesome AND beautiful. I can´t remember when I last saw anything so lovely. AND THE MUSIC!!! reminded me of Irish haunting ballads from my áuntyKate´days. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I still have so many of your hubs to catch up on, but I´m getting there. x
Micky - In New York they are good for one thing, well two things, the crazy city hunters come down to shoot them, hopefully for food, but a lot of times they shoot each other. and (2) they are good for road kill, as they are always running out in front of the cars.
Revisiting this hub and remembering Bambi. Guess I am reliving portions of my childhood. Enjoyed this hub previously and once again.
So cool that you post your own videos! The deer videos are so beautiful! I almost feel bad about eating one last week. (Or, part of one).
