God, please, help me speak!
God, it’s You I seek.
When things are looking bleak,
You know I’ll help the weak.
I’ll wash the feet, of the meek.
And I’ll turn the other cheek.
Lord, if You want, I’ll fight!
I just want to make it right.
I’ll work all night!
Take me to the Light.
Some need more rope.
Life’s a slippery slope.
Please help us cope!
God, give us hope!
It’ll be alright.
Just take me to the Light.
Open up our eyes!
Please! Open up those skies!
Dear God, give us grace,
Please heal the Human Race.
Help us stand upright.
Please, take me to the light!
When my brother’s down,
Whether white or brown,
Let’s bring him back around.
Then fall down on the ground!
God, help us understand,
White, yellow, black, or tan,
All need a helping hand.
I’ll lift my fellow man,
You know the future’s bright,
If we take it to the light.
When Darkness comes to call,
When our back’s against the wall,
When I hear St. Peter call,
I’ll try to stand up tall.
I want to make it right!

So beautiful Micky. I finished the last poem for my book of poetry today, cheaper that way for copyright and God was in my last one, well others too but this one more directly. I had someone surprised that my own poetry touched me and sometimes makes me cry but I know you can know what that means, God just comes through us at times doesn't He? Thank you for the push, I don't know what I am doing wrong, must be something I still have not figured out. But I am getting a lot of new followers all of a sudden. maybe that will help, I don't go for pay so don't know why getting under 90 upsets me, lol, just feels like school I guess.

Yo Polly! Congrats on your poems. You are so good at it.
The scores frustrate me in that they distracting. If you hold a poem without publishing, for a day or two or three, your score doesn't fall as much. When you work harder and publish one after another- the score drops or doesn't rise.
Of course commenting at other hubs raises it a bit. And going to the forums with I hate. So maybe my score will always stay a little low but I'm not running for mayor. God bless!

We all hope (or should I say most of us hope) to get to the Light someday. Have you ever read the books "Drawn to the Light" or "Embraced by the Light"? Has to do with near death experiences and what they see as they are between here and there. This is wonderful poetry with deep meaning and lovely photos accompanying it. God bless you Micky!

For some reason this makes me think of the sun, the wonderous and beautiful sun and how it shines down on all of us the sinner the saint the good the bad and warming each of us the same without any consideration of our disreguard of its life giving power and need it continues to shine and warm without any gratitude.
