The Snow Continues To Fall
69
The snow continues to fall.
Does it tend to temper us all?
Does adverse weather sometimes become
The tool that is needed to humble some?
To make us better and make us strong.
To better stand for right and against the wrong.
The bitter cold, the ice, tumultuous rain, and wind,
We try to resist what our earth will send.
We can try to withstand with all our might
But against stronger forces it’s hard to fight.
We can only absorb what nature throws.
We can only garden what the creator sows.
Is it all by chance that these calamities persist?
The forces are so strong that we can’t resist.
Our eyes can only see pain though their mist.
The pain contorts and compels me to shake my fist.
Yet to some it seems that life is a game of gain.
They can’t see the eye of life’s hurricane.
Their hearts turn to ice. They’re bitter and cold.
Can they reverse the order as their souls are sold?
Does the ice surround the heart just to make it cold?
Can the heart melt if we comfort and hold
Our neighbor who is hurt and in more pain?
There will be winds and so much more rain.
But we all can withstand all kinds of weather
If we melt our hearts by coming together.
Please send us strong winds and the icy cold
If it will make us compassionate and bold.
Send us our medicine, be they bitter pills
If it tempers our resolves and strengthens our wills,
If it’s to serve a benevolent God and no other,
And compel us to love every sister and brother.
The landscape is reshaped. Is it just for fashion?
Please my benevolent God, please show your compassion.
The earth moves below and the sky above.
God, please show us a miracle, show us your love.
Please make suffering short, help us heal, let us see.
More miracles as have been found in our beloved Haiti.
The earth will move, the winds will blow
But God will watch wherever we go!
The snow continues to fall on us all,
Perhaps until we all can hear His call.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh how beautiful this writing is!
My favorite pics--the first one with the snow--I believe it was in Mickydeeston and the second of the red cardinal and the squirrel! So great! The very last picture was awesome..if that was my photograph, I would have it transfered to canvas as a large photograph in my living room--it is so unique with all the colorful birdies looking at you! :) love it!
We would laugh and boast-cause on a bike we would coast-
four tics would host-and then coppers would come...and then we'de be toast....hehehe! :P
Micky Dee - Another awesome poem. The pictures went along with the flow. Once again, it was very nice. Your faith in God is very strong and admirable.

Mickey, 'Bro, you have a tender heart showing from a stealed past. It's showing. I had to read and see then return and see, then return and read. I saw 2 or 3 pictures that rang out I've been there and seen this place, dare you say these are images from where?
I think you may be right the weather is Gods gift it makes a difference to many. For me it is a time to watch and listen when the weather raises it's voice. No snow here but 1 or 2 times in the 5 decades of my memory but the desert thunder and lightening shows are most beautiful. The weather God sends some times is a test for human hearts, a test to see if there are those who would rise to the season of giving in the midst of destruction. It is good to see those of us who will and are.
Stay Blessed
hi Micky thanks for letting us share for the great photos and words, I love the picture of the red birds against the snow - we have none as bright as that except maybe the robin.
How I love snow, oh Mick, they are nice pics all of it, How are you? Maita
Stunningly beautiful -time appears to be standing still.
Very beautiful pictures. I always wonder how the tiny birds and squirrels survive such low temps. Well one good thing about getting stuck in snow at home, it gives us a time to slow down and reflect upon the nature and God.
What an amazing piece of writing! You did an incredible job. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your talent.
This is beautiful! It makes me want to light a fire and drink some hot chocolate. Its snowing out right now!
Simply beautiful micky dee: I'm a little disappointed that our snow seems to be leaving. At night during the winter season it is so quiet. When in the elements you can hear a pin drop, the air is brisk, clean and refreshing. Thank you for the beautiful pros and the pictures. Blessings to your and yours
Beautiful writing, and pictures. You have a way with words, great hub :-)
I love your hubs because of all the beautiful pictures - thank you!
MickeyDee, beautiful words of truth .. it's in the hardest of times our true charecter is revealed. It's also during those times, as you say, we have no where to turn but to Him. I'm so glad for the promise that He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother and that He will never leave us or forsake us. The pictues were perfect (and beautiful)in illustrating your poetry. Profound words from your tender heart. Thanks for sharing your heart. HUGS to you
Micky Dee: Ok...Just remember when you ask for all that cold weather...to help strenghten our resolve...to not include Texas...That's all I'm saying, MD...Ha! Great poem and pics on the cold white stuff...made me cold though!
I read this before I started following you. I didn't know it was yours until now. It's awesome! Thanks!!!
Nice photos with beautiful words. Well done, Micky...

Micky, I'm gonna have to go back and see the pictures as I really wanted to get to the words first. Ya know, you're right. It has always been my feeling that God puts the weather and other things of nature on us to make something happen in us or cause us to feel a certain way.
Today, in Baltimore, we just got through a fairly serious snowstorm for us. Only 5-6 inches, but since much of it is now ice, it causes us to slow down and pay more attention to where we step and what we're doing.
I like the analogies you use and so now I'm gonna go back and check out the photos which were just loading as I was reading. Another great Micky Hub! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
